Concerns at the Church (vv. 14-15)
•The teachings of Balaam and the Nicolaitans penetrated the church and was pilfering the truth of the Gospel (Numbers 22-25, Rev 2:6)
It was leading people to compromise a syncretic faith
A CALL TO REPENT (vv. 16-17)
•Jesus does not save them from their hostile environment
•He calls the church to repent from their indulgences
•Because the consequence is to face the Sword of his mouth
•The reward of repentance and perseverance is ‘Hidden Manna’ and a ‘White Stone’
CALL TO THE CHURCH TODAY
•Have we compromised and flirted with the world?
•Have we become accustomed to accommodating sin without addressing it head-on?
•Does repentance follow a Biblical norm? Its not about feeling sorry for your sin.
Take Away: BE CAUTIOUS OF COMPROMISING ON THAT WHICH CONFLICTS WITH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
